"Wir verbrachten leider nur das Wochenende dort aber in diesen 2 Tagen haben wir unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen! Traumhafte Lage (Natur pur), grosser Garten (wir grillten an beiden Abenden) und der Pool nur für uns. Wir und besonders unsere beiden Kinder waren begeistert! Unsere Gastgeberin empfing uns sehr herzlich und es warteten frisches Brot, Saft, Milch, Orangen, Kaffee etc. auf uns. Wir würden jederzeit wieder kommen :)"

"Great location, very quiet and peaceful - perfect for the relaxing holiday we were all hoping for."

First of all we were arriving quite late (flight a bit delayed) so we were very appreciative that Maria met us after midnight - we were a bit worried about not having any food for the first morning but she had generously made sure there was some bread/fruit/tea/coffee which was great - it is a lovely house in a beautiful setting - we really enjoyed our week there. It was a great place to relax, and potter around/sleep in and to use as a base to make full or half day trips from - the garden is full of buzzing bees! It's fantastic to hear the humming - we were lucky to arrive during the local religious festival in the nearby village so got to see various performances (but missed the main procession). Impressive fireworks on the final night - one of the highlights was a tour given by Jose-Marie around the wider estate grounds - seeing the old kitchen where his grandmother worked, the wine cellar, the gardens, the animals they now rear and the forest full of old trees (and the new eucalyptus plantation) was very interesting. There is an ingenious water supply system complete with an aqueduct. Our older kid wants to go back to climb some of the trees! Some of the rooms are a little dark during the daytime without a light on - this is because of the small windows which was a feature when these old farmhouses were built - they keep the interior deliciously cool in the heat (and probably warm in the winter). Not really a problem unless you plan to stay inside a lot during the day"

Seguro que en verano con la piscina da mucha pereza salir, pero la ubicacion nos ha permitido conocer sin mucho esfuerzo una zona preciosa de Portugal”
